💜🐾 Whippets Shine at the Ogallala Invite! 🐾💜

The Ogallala Invite was one of the largest & toughest meets of the season, featuring 16 varsity boys, 14 varsity girls, 11 JV boys, 6 JV girls, 12 middle school boys, and 11 middle school girls teams (all schools counted, even non-scoring). Six of seven SWC schools lined up — Ogallala, Minden, McCook, Gothenburg, Cozad, Broken Bow — and the field included state-ranked Class C & D teams: C Boys #2 Gothenburg & #6 Minden; D Boys #3 North Platte St. Pat’s & #5 Perkins County; C Girls #4 Minden, #5 Chase County, #6 Gothenburg. With Top 20 Varsity, Top 10 JV, and Top 10 Middle School medals on the line, the Whippets delivered at every level.

🏃‍♂️ Boys

• Javier Perales — 12th — 17:37.26

Medalists (Top 10):
• Steve Rhodes — 3rd — 19:42.49
• Seth Jacobitz — 10th — 20:33.82

Middle School Boys — 6th of 12 teams (112 pts)
Medalist (Top 10):
• Blake Boudreau — 5th — 11:52.53

🏃‍♀️ Girls

Varsity — 2nd of 14 teams (40 pts)
📌 A 1-point battle with Chase County for the team title.
Medalists (Top 20):
• Alexa Warner — 3rd — 20:41.74
• Adelyn Whitten — 4th — 20:57.37
• Aclynn Osterbuhr — 16th — 22:33.70
• Evie Sharkey — 19th — 22:39.58

JV — 2nd of 6 teams
Medalist (Top 10):
• Cristal Gonzalez — 1st — 23:57.38
(Shoutout: Zipporah Wilson — 15th, just outside medals.)

Middle School Girls — 🥇 1st of 11 teams — Team Champions (28 pts)
Medalists (Top 10):
• Regan Johnson — 4th — 12:30.1
• Gemma Fritson — 5th — 12:43.4
• Kinsey Morey — 10th — 12:59.2
(Scoring depth from Emerson Kuehn — 13:49.3 and Taya Tomsen — 14:16.9 sealed the championship.)

💜 Takeaway

Against a massive field of 16 boys varsity teams, 14 girls varsity teams, plus deep JV and middle school races, the Whippets earned team success at every level — just 4 points from 2nd in varsity boys, 1 point from the girls varsity win, both JV squads runner-up, and Middle School Girls crowned champions.

This meet showed the depth and future strength of the Whippet program. 💪
