What Are Laws?
1. Laws are rules created by governments to keep people safe and maintain order.
2. Apply to everyone, including teenagers.
3. Exist at different levels: School rules, city ordinances, State Law and Federal Laws.
Why Do Laws Exist?
1. Laws and rules protect people and property.
2. Prevent harm and dangerous behavior.
3. Promote fairness and justice.
4. Keep society organized.

Congrats to Frank, Carson, and Rebbeca for their outstanding performance at the State Economics Challenge today. They finished 2nd place in the western region!

🎺 These 5th grade band members reached Black Belt status in Band Karate this week! All 5th grade band students perform playing quizzes of songs in their books and we keep track of their progress using a system similar to karate belts. Each belt has 3 songs they must play to earn it.
Congratulations to these students for getting all 27 songs done. The rest of the band will finish up in the next couple weeks! 🥁

The middle school track meet at Thayer Central tomorrow has been rescheduled due to weather for next Thursday, April 16th. We will decide at a later date if it will work to attend the rescheduled meet.

The Minden 9/10 Track and Field Meet is taking place at Kuper Field tomorrow! Field events start at 4:00pm, 3200 relay at 4:15pm, and the remainder of running events start at 5:00pm. The meet schedule is attached!

The Minden FCCLA chapter had a blast at SLC in Lincoln. Over the three days, our chapter had one student compete in STAR at the state level, and the rest of our officers/members helped as STAR youth volunteers, where they got to watch and time STAR projects. Our FCCLA chapter "flourished with purpose" this year, and we're inspired to begin planning for next year.

Several parents have inquired about the dates for our high school football camp so that they can plan their summer vacations. The camp will run Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29 from 8 to 10:30 AM. Youth camp information will be coming soon.
