MPS will have our summer lunch program again starting Tuesday, May 26th. We will have different options for this summer's meals. This program is for all students ages 1-18 in our district. Please sign up by Friday, May 1st, using the link provided. https://forms.gle/schPaHaCtWG8at1A7

The students created some amazing diorama scenes with inspiration from our novel, The Outsiders. Thank you, 8th graders!

These FBLA members had an great time at the State Leadership Conference in Kearney over the past three days! We're proud to share that six events placed in the Top 8, with students recognized on stage for their achievements. Even more exciting - three of those events placed in the Top 3, earning those students a spot at the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas this summer!

Join us on Monday, April 20th at 7:00 PM in the MHS Band room to watch all of our fantastic choir and band solos and small groups! This concert is open to the public and it is a great chance for our students to show off their hard work before performing at the District Music Contest on 4/24.

We were excited to have two of our Invention Convention students present their inventions to the school board this week! They did a fantastic job sharing their ideas, creativity, and hard work. We are so proud of their innovation and the way they represented our school!

Congratulations to the High School Quiz Bowl team on Runner up at the SWC tournament! It was a great end to the season!

We need donations for the student lunch to be successful at District Music Contest next Friday! There are around 187 students from all the different schools that are eating lunch that day. We are purchasing sandwiches from Midwest Meat but we need fruit, water, and dessert donations.

Items should come to the band room by Thursday, April 23rd.

Our boys golf team had a good day at the Lexington Invite! The team finished in 5th place shooting a 341 with Turner and Zach both taking home a medal. Turner - 81 (10th) Zach - 81 (11th) Travler - 89 Brody - 90 Andrew - 91

The middle school track meet will resume at approximately 5:50pm as this accounts for 30 minutes after the last lightning strike in range.

The middle school track meet is currently in a lighting/weather delay. Stay tuned for information about when or if we can resume the meet.

Registration is now open for our youth girls basketball camp this summer🏀 Camp will be held on Monday June 15th and Tuesday June 16th at the high school. Registration will be open until May 15th - you can still register after May 15th, but a camp t-shirt may not be available.

Camp forms have been delivered to East Elementary and CLJ Middle School. We're looking forward to working with future Whippet basketball players this summer! If you have any questions, contact Coach Prososki.

What Are Laws?
1. Laws are rules created by governments to keep people safe and maintain order.
2. Apply to everyone, including teenagers.
3. Exist at different levels: School rules, city ordinances, State Law and Federal Laws.

Why Do Laws Exist?
1. Laws and rules protect people and property.
2. Prevent harm and dangerous behavior.
3. Promote fairness and justice.
4. Keep society organized.

Common Laws Affecting School Students
1. Underage drinking and drug use, including tobacco and vapes.
2. Driving Laws (speeding, texting while driving, DUI and rules of the road).
3. Theft and vandalism.
4. Bullying and cyberbullying
5. Trespassing

Congratulations to the 6th grade FPS team who placed 4th in their booklet competition at the Future Problem State Bowl today!

Congrats to Frank, Carson, and Rebbeca for their outstanding performance at the State Economics Challenge today. They finished 2nd place in the western region!
