Congrats to Frank, Carson, and Rebbeca for their outstanding performance at the State Economics Challenge today. They finished 2nd place in the western region!

Not all heroes wear capes, but Mr. Rowse could definitely use one to get down after his weekly search for stray recess balls. We would like to thank him for all he does at CLJMS. Happy Assistant Principal's Day!

🎺 These 5th grade band members reached Black Belt status in Band Karate this week! All 5th grade band students perform playing quizzes of songs in their books and we keep track of their progress using a system similar to karate belts. Each belt has 3 songs they must play to earn it. Congratulations to these students for getting all 27 songs done. The rest of the band will finish up in the next couple weeks! 🥁

Several parents have inquired about the dates for our high school football camp so that they can plan their summer vacations. The camp will run Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29 from 8 to 10:30 AM. Youth camp information will be coming soon.

Last Friday at our Whippet Pack assembly the middle school students had the chance to hear from members of the girls and boys high school basketball team. They spoke about their season and what it takes to be a member of the team throughout the year. They even showed the middle school students how it's done in knockout! We appreciate them taking the time to speak to our students!

Class B All State Band was in Grand Island today! 5 Minden students auditioned and were selected for the event. Abby and Rebbeca were a part of the jazz band. Jon and Bailey were part of the wind ensemble which performed the premiere of a brand new piece of music written for the group. Frank Kovacs was also selected for the event but was unable to attend due to state speech. Good luck today Frank!

Minden FFA had an amazing three days at the Nebraska State FFA Convention. Here are some of the key take away from the convention. ⭐️Three Star Premier Chapter 3️⃣3rd Place Model of Excellence in Strengthening Agriculture 🔵 Two Nebraska State FFA Degrees- Alyssa Johnson and Arabella Reed 🗣️ Ag Communications Team 3rd place 🪴 Nursery Landscape Team 8th place 🏅 Sydney Jenkins- 5th place gold in Senior Public Speaking 🏅 Isabelle Martin- 6th individually in Nursery Landscape 🏅Arabella Reed- 5th individually in Ag Communications 🏅Lizzy Nielsen- 8th individually in Ag Communications 🥇 Natural Resources, Floriculture, and Nursery Landscape were all 1st in the team portion of their contests
