The Minden Chamber board decided last night to cancel Bandfest scheduled for Saturday, October 17th due to concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic. Hopefully next year will be a great year to continue this event!

Freshmen orientation will be held tonight Wednesday, August 5th at the high school theater starting at 6:30 pm. This is for parents and students.
MPS Parents: Due to the recent COVID cases in Kearney County. We are going to require mask for staff and students when social distancing is not possible. This would include our bus routes and activities that we cannot social distance.
Braden Bates- Minden, Ne just got selected today to play in the NE / Iowa Baseball Border Battle Prospects Game being recognized as one of the class of 2021 top baseball prospects in Nebraska. He will join the team and play August 9th in Omaha. Congratulations Braden we are proud of you! Go Whippets!
This is a reminder for girls in grades 3rd - 8th attending the youth volleyball camp tomorrow. 3rd & 4th graders should check in at CLJ Middle School while 5th - 8th graders should check in at the High School. Times are from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for 3rd - 6th grade & 1:00 - 5:00 for 7th & 8th graders.
MPS: This is the last week for the summer lunch program. We will be getting ready for the upcoming school year. Thank you to the kitchen staff and volunteers.

Minden Public Schools will start school Thursday, August 13th. Our goal is to open our schools and keep them open safely. Graduation Reception will be Saturday, July 25th at 1:00 and Prom starting at 6:30 both in the high school commons.
MHS Band members will have a meeting with instruments on Monday, July 27th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Music will be distributed at that time and will do some playing practices.
If your daughter would like a T-shirt for the youth girls Whippet Basketball camp next week, your registration needs to be to Coach Maulsby or the school by 2:00pm Tuesday, July 14. Late registrations will be accepted, but a T-shirt will not be guaranteed. Hope to see you there!
