2024/2025 Whippet Cheer Team!

A group of MHS Band/Choir/Art students spent the day at the SWC Fine Arts Festival in Holdrege! They spent the day working on music and attending art sessions.
Special shoutout to Adalle Banzhaf-Diaz for having a solo with the choir, Minden art students for winning the mural competition, and Kinsie Land's artwork being selected as the best piece from Minden!

The 2024 Minden Whippet Track & Field season go underway today at the UNK Indoor. We had three event champions today an numerous personal bests.

GIRLS
60 Meter Dash (Prelims): Lauren Starkey (SO) placed 16th with a PR of 9.12 seconds.
200 Meters (Finals): Makenna Starkey (JR) finished 7th with a PR of 29.38 seconds, and Lauren Starkey (SO) also set a PR, finishing 17th.
400 Meters (Finals): Makenna Starkey (JR) secured 8th place with a PR of 1:07.31.
800 Meters (Finals): Ayleigh Porter (SR) finished 14th with a PR of 3:06.74.
3200 Meters (Finals): Alexa Warner (FR) won the event with a PR of 13:16.20.
Shot Put (Finals): Addison Klabunde (JR) placed 10th with a PR throw of 31-00.00. Kate Boudreau (SR) and Carmin Gramke (JR) also set PRs, finishing 18th and 20th, respectively.
Discus (Finals): Addison Klabunde (JR) placed 9th with a PR throw of 96-06.00. Carmin Gramke (JR) finished 15th with a PR
High Jump (Finals): Makenna Betty (JR) won the event with a season record (SR) of 5-00.00, and Makenna Starkey (JR) placed 8th with an SR of 4-08.00.
Pole Vault (Finals): Sophia Cederburg (JR) achieved a PR of 8-06.00, finishing 12th.
Long Jump (Finals): Lauren Starkey (SO) set a PR with a jump of 12-10.00, finishing 17th.
Triple Jump (Finals): Aubree Bules (JR) placed 8th with a PR jump of 29-10.50, and Makenna Anderson (SO) finished 12th with a PR of 27-06.50.
BOYS
60 Meter Dash (Prelims): Kade Dorszynski (SR) placed 10th with a PR of 7.50 seconds. Caleb Schwenka (FR) and Dylan Hernandez (JR) also set PRs, finishing 22nd and 26th, respectively.
200 Meters (Finals): Dylan Hernandez (JR) recorded a PR of 28.60 seconds, finishing 20th.
400 Meters (Finals): Luke Grollmes (SO) secured 9th place with a PR of 58.07 seconds, and Cade Harsin (JR) followed in 13th with 1:03.29.
800 Meters (Finals): Landon Bules (SO) achieved 4th place with a PR of 2:17.26.
1600 Meters (Finals): Samuel Cederburg (JR) and Caden Jameson (JR) placed 3rd and 9th with PRs of 4:53.04 and 5:03.87, respectively. Gage Thull (FR) also set a PR, finishing 14th.
3200 Meters (Finals): Samuel Cederburg (JR) won the event with a PR of 10:33.46. Nathan Althouse (JR) placed 6th.
60m Hurdles (Finals and Prelims): Brett Eckhardt (JR) placed 8th in the finals and 3rd in the prelims with a PR of 8.84 seconds. Luke Grollmes (SO) also set a PR in the prelims, finishing 11th.
4x400 Relay (Finals): The team of Logan Verbeck, Parker Hatch, Caden Jameson, and Landon Bules placed 5th with a time of 3:52.11.
Shot Put (Finals): Austin Lutkemeier (SR) placed 3rd with a PR throw of 49-03.00. Traelin Christensen (FR) also set a PR, finishing 22nd.
Discus (Finals): Austin Lutkemeier (SR) placed 4th with a PR throw of 143-01.00. Traelin Christensen (FR) and Cael Smith (FR) also set PRs, finishing 16th and 22nd, respectively.
Pole Vault (Finals): Koltdyn Heath (JR) achieved a PR of 10-06.00, finishing 16th.
Long Jump (Finals): Bronson Glanzer (SR) and Logan Verbeck (FR) set PRs, finishing 15th and 20th, respectively.
Triple Jump (Finals): Parker Hatch (FR) and Bronson Glanzer (SR) placed 8th and 10th with PR jumps of 37-11.00 and 36-11.50, respectively.

Yesterday, members of the FFA presented at the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association Conference in Kearney. They did a presentation on the community involvement within our program.


The Quiz Bowl Team had a FUN time and a successful night, bringing home 2nd place medals from the first ever Red Cloud Twilight Meet.

Home Track Meet Helpers NEEDED!
Whippet supporters, we are in need of folks who would be able to help run the pole vault at our home track meets this season. Our home meets are as follows: 3/19/24 Early Bird Meet 4pm, 4/2/24 9/10 meet 4pm, 4/12/24 Marsh Beck Invitational 2:30pm, 4/27/24 Southwest Conference Championship 11am, and 5/9/24 Middle School Invite 3pm.
