We will have a 2:00 dismissal today, March 4th, due to extremely high winds and eventually snow in the later afternoon. Please be safe; wind gusts have the potential to increase to 60+ mph, and an inch of snow could cause blizzard-like conditions.
The Speech Showcase originally scheduled for this evening (Tuesday) has been RESCHEDULED to March 6 (THURSDAY) due to today's predicted weather. We hope to see you all there Thursday at 7:00!
Due to the adverse weather conditions predicted for Tuesday mid day through night, we are making the following changes for activities:
1. The girls basketball team will now leave for State Basketball in Lincoln at 10:00am on Tuesday March 4th.
2. Home Quiz Bowl Meet scheduled for March 4th is CANCELLED.
3. Speech Performance Night scheduled for March 4th has been moved to Thursday March 6th at 7pm.
4. NO EVENING ACTIVITIES allowed on Tuesday March 4th.
The Speech Team had a stellar weekend at the Voices of the Plains Speech Tournament in Holdrege. Minden had five champions in varsity and two in novice. In addition, the team earned a total of 39 medals and were team champions in varsity and the combined division.
STATE GIRLS BASKETBALL!! Minden plays Columbus Scotus Catholic on Wednesday March 5th at 1:30pm at the Devaney Center! As a reminder all tickets for the Devaney Center must be purchased through GoFan and tickets for PBA must be purchased through Ticketmaster. As the higher seed, Minden will be the HOME team for this game and thus home seating is on the north side.

a. Students will be seated in Sections A-8, A-9, B-9, B-10 (south side)
i. Holding Area: northwest corner on the concourse level

Due to an early State Girls' Basketball game on Wednesday, March 5th, MPS will not have school. We will have school on Thursday, but we will not have school on Friday, March 6th, when the girls win.
Adalle Banzhaf Diaz performed the National Anthem at the State Swimming Championships in Lincoln today. She was selected for this honor through a tryout process. We are proud of Adalle. Well done!!!

Lady Whippets are State Tournament bound! They defeated West Point Beemer 66-31 in front of a packed home crowd! We will play next Wednesday at the Devaney Center with the game time and opponent to be announced. Go Whippets!!

The boys basketball season comes to an end at the hands of a top 5 ranked Cozad squad 75-31. We are proud of this team for competing with pride and great effort all season!

Minden Speech had a fabulous weekend at two meets. Varsity headed to GI Northwest and earned 3rd as a team in a very competitive meet. N Althouse & S Cederburg were both event champs. Novice headed to the Red Raider Meet at Loup City and earned 3rd as a team as well!
The C1-3 District FInal matchup is set! Minden will host West Point Beemer for a trip to the Girls State Basketball Tournament. The District Final is set for Friday February 28th and the start time will be 7:00 pm. Doors will open to the public for entry at 6:00 pm. As a reminder, SWC and Minden Activity Passes are not honored at this NSAA post season event. Admission is $6 Adults and $5 Students. GO WHIPPETS!
