CONGRATS to the Play Production team for winning the B-5 District Championship today at Minden High School. They have qualified for the State Championships in Norfolk and are scheduled to perform at Johnny Carson Theater on Friday December 8th at 3:00pm. This is a huge accomplishment to qualify for state for the second consecutive year. Job well done to all the cast, crew, and coaches!!!!

Minden hosts the B5 District Play Production Tournament on Wed, Nov 29. Minden performs their show, Into the Crimson Shallows, at 2:15. The tournament is open to the public. First show is at 9:45. Awards will take place around 4:00 p.m. Break a leg, whippet thespians!

The Whippet high school winter sports season kicks off tomorrow as we host Aurora for the basketball varsity jamboree games. The girls game is slated to start at 5:00pm and the boys to follow. As a reminder, all jamboree games are sponsored by the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame. As a result, NO PASSES can be accepted for admission so all in attendance must pay regular admission. We hope to see everyone on Monday evening to catch a sneak peek of our basketball teams!

Today (Nov 18) is the 7th Annual Minden Play Production Rumble! This empty auditorium will be transformed by 13 different schools and nearly 500 students to create amazing shows! First show starts at 8:45a.m. Open to the public. Minden performs at approximately 6:15 p.m.

Hey, fans! If you’d like to attend state wrestling this year, we have to order tickets NOW. I know this seems way early, but this ensures that all Minden fans will sit together and that you get your tickets for the price the NSAA intends ($36 per person, which gets you into all sessions for B and C boys). Ticket scalping has become a problem at the CHI for this event, which has made some ticket sales outrageous. Please text Natalie Janda at +1 (308) 830-3303. We need to mail this order by Nov. 27th.
Last year we had more Minden fans than ever at the state meet. It was awesome to see that sort of support for our kids who work incredibly hard. Let’s keep that train rolling! State Wrestling is truly an electric experience.

HIGH SCHOOL WINTER SPORTS PARENT MEETING REMINDER!
This is a reminder that we have our parent meetings for high school girls and boys basketball as well as girls and boys wrestling scheduled for Monday November 14th. There will not be a whole group meeting before the coaches meetings this year. When you enter the high school you will be directed to the appropriate room for your child's sport. Meetings begin at 6:30 PM!
NEW BASKETBALL RULES REMINDER:
This is a reminder for all high school basketball fans that the rules regarding fouls and free throws has changed. Effective for this season and moving forward, there will no longer be a 1 and 1 free throw for bonus. The new rule states starting with the 5th foul of each quarter, the team will shoot 2 free throws. This is in effect for both high school and middle school basketball games.

STATE VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONS PARADE CELEBRATION!
We are inviting the whole community of Minden to join us in a celebration of our State Champion Volleyball Team on Wednesday November 8th at 4pm downtown on the square. We will have a short Champions Walk (parade) starting on the corner of 5th and N Colorado and going around the square one time where they will then stop at the Opera House. The mayor, coaches, and players will speak from the balcony. We invite everyone who is able to line the sidewalks around the square to cheer on our girls as they make the Champions Walk!
Following the parade the Tribland Tailgate Sports Show will be broadcasting from Minden High School in the commons. During their show, they will highlight the Whippet Volleyball team and interview players and coaches. The State Champion Volleyball team will be at East Elementary on Tuesday 7th in the morning from 7:30am until school starts to celebrate their championship with the East kids as they come to school! They will have their gold championship medals as well as the State Championship Trophy! Parents are welcome to walk in with their kids if they want to take pictures with their child with players and the trophy!! The players will be located in the front hallway of the East main entrance!
