Help Support Our Circle of Friends 2025-2026 T-Shirt Fundraiser!
We are excited to announce our Circle of Friends T-Shirt Fundraiser! This is a wonderful opportunity for students, families, and community members to show their support while helping us raise funds for a great cause.
All proceeds will go directly toward:
Hosting fun and inclusive events and activities for our students
Purchasing materials and supplies to support social and friendship-building programs
Creating meaningful opportunities for inclusion throughout the school year
By purchasing a t-shirt, you are not only helping to fund this program but also spreading awareness about the importance of friendship, kindness, and inclusion.

The meet at McCook has been cancelled (scheduled for Thursday 9/18) due to the storms they experienced last night. Our middle school and high school cross country teams will now go to the Fillmore Central meet at Hidden Hills Country Club in Geneva tomorrow. This meet starts at 4:15pm.

The kitchen staff is excited for the 25/26 school year. This year we would like to get the Beef for Schools program up and running again. Our goal is to feed our students with local nutritious foods and we need your help.
Thanks to generous donations in the past we have an account to help fund our first few processed beef. We are looking to our community for anyone who would like to donate a cow or TWO!! Keep your eyes open because the cafeteria staff are teaming up with our FFA Students!
We would also love any extra home grown produce you would like to donate to the school lunch program! Corn on the Cobb, pumpkin. squash etc. We loving having fresh and local food in our cafeteria's!
The CLJMS fall book fair is in full swing this week! Be sure to stop in after school or during P/T conferences to find a new read for your student. Books in the home reinforce a positive reading culture and lifelong learning!
It's time for another amazing book fair at CLJMS! Come shop in person September 15-18th, after school and during P/T conferences. Shop online until Sep. 19th. 7th-8th FB vs. Gothenburg: Next Tuesday, Sept. 16 we will play Gothenburg in football. The 7th grade will play at 5 pm followed by the 8th grade game. Go Whippets
The start time for the home football game tonight vs Adams Central has been moved up and the game will now start at 6:30pm. This is due to the potential of rain and thunderstorms in the area later this evening.

This morning, MPS was notified of a potential situation in town. The Minden Police Department notified the school, and we went into our "secure" protocol for about 15 minutes today. During the secure protocol, our students and staff are required to remain inside the building. However, business continued as usual until the all-clear was communicated to staff.
Daily, our doors remain locked throughout the school day. As a reminder, our school and local law enforcement agencies are in constant communication as a means to keep our students safe. We appreciate all that MPD does for us, and knowing that our kids and staff are safe.

Before and After School Pick-up: Working with MPD, we have some concerns about the pick-up and drop-off process at CLJ. Attached is a map and directions on what we need parents to do when coming to the school in the mornings and afternoons. We need everyone to be safe. Give yourself some extra time and look out for students coming and going from school.

JV and JH Event Admission: $5 Adult $4 Students
ACTIVITY TICKETS and PASSES:
Student Activity Ticket/Pass: $35 (1st through 12th grades)
Single Adult Pass: $80
Family Pass: $225 (2 parents and any number of MPS school age students in the household)

Any 7th or 8th grader planning on participating in a fall sport -FB/VB/CC will need to take the SWAY baseline test. This baseline test is part of our concussion management plan. You will need to finish this baseline test before you can practice or play in games. I have attached the information. If you can't get it completed we will help you get it completed at school.
K-12 students will be starting school on Wednesday, August 13th. This is a reminder that we will have several young drivers and buses back on the road. Please be careful around intersections, both in town and out on gravel roads. Be safe, and give yourself time.
Are you a new student to our district? Consider enrolling on August 6th during our new student enrollment day at the offices of Minden High School, C.L. Jones Middles School, or East Elementary.

The MHS Dance Team is hosting Whippet Vision Movie Night on Kuper Field on Friday August 8th!! The movie will begin at 8:30pm on the video board, and concessions are available. We hope to see a great turn out and support the MHS Dance Team!!!
A reminder: Our last Summer Lunch pickup day will be Tuesday, July 29th. Pick up your summer lunch at East Elementary from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
