Laws and Consequences.
What Are Laws?
1. Laws are rules created by governments to keep people safe and maintain order.
2. Apply to everyone, including teenagers.
3. Exist at different levels: School rules, city ordinances, State Law and Federal Laws.
Why Do Laws Exist?
1. Laws and rules protect people and property.
2. Prevent harm and dangerous behavior.
3. Promote fairness and justice.
4. Keep society organized.
Common Laws Affecting School Students
1. Underage drinking and drug use, including tobacco and vapes.
2. Driving Laws (speeding, texting while driving, DUI and rules of the road).
3. Theft and vandalism.
4. Bullying and cyberbullying
5. Trespassing
