Food for thought: The Nebraska Department of Education recognizes the importance of early childhood education through their Early Learning Guidelines. The very first guideline acknowledges the importance of every parent, childcare provider, and early childhood teacher. It reads, "Children are learning every moment. The environments we create and the interactions we provide have a direct impact on children's learning and development. This is true throughout the child's entire day including home environments, neighborhoods, and early childhood settings. Secure relationships with parents, family members, teachers, caregivers, and peers help children to feel emotionally safe and confident as learners and in their interactions with others."-NDE Early Learning Guidelines
This may just look like a pile of notecards. However, each notecard has a student's name on it signed and dated by staff members who each day made a concerted effort to "go get 'em"-go get a student that is. This second semester, exactly 808 intentional conversations were had between staff and students and 1,702 "go get 'ems" throughout the entire year took place. We're proud to share that's 1,702 moments of positive relationship building which makes for the culture and climate of a school family at East Elementary. 💜

Minden High School is beyond thrilled to announce that we have secured enough partnerships to move forward with our video board project for the football field/track and the high school gym. We are currently working to build a media productions program where students will help create digital content to show on varsity game days! We are expecting installation of our boards sometime around the week of June 24th!! This project could not have been possible without the support of our partner businesses!! THANK YOU!! Reminders for parents for track and field day today: begins at 9, please send a disposable sack lunch and water, dress and prepare your child for any type of weather, you must check them out with the teacher if you plan to take them home with you at the conclusion, stay close to your minden whippets app/facebook/text messages as that is how we will communicate any weather announcements. Sophie Graham makes good choices and is very responsible. She can work and think independently. Sophie is a great role model for others by her actions and work ethic. Super!
Tatum Johnson shows kindness to others by offering help and assistance without being asked or told. She does this without needing any reward or recognition for her efforts. Tatum, that is the whippet way!
Zackery has been coming to school ready to work! Mrs. Woldt shares that he tries his best, has a smile on his face, and asks for help when he needs it. Way to go, Zackery!
Kasen Shelton has integrity! He is always willing to help others and is a hard worker. Kasen is kind and caring to others and has learned so much thus far in kindergarten. Kasen is a whippet!
Asher Wilhelm is respectful and hard working in Mrs. Maulsby's first grade classroom. Asher has the biggest smile when he is successful with a new concept. He has a positive attitude and is willing to put in the extra effort.
Mrs. Schmidt reports that Layna Knispel has been working so hard. Layna is responsible, friendly, and helpful. She is determined to do well, and Mrs. Schmidt has loved watching her grow.
Mrs. Muller shares that Briella Richards is respectful and a has a heart full of kindness to others. Briella shines each and every day in the classroom. What a second grade whippet!
Cam Armstrong follows the rules, does what is asked of him, and acts with integrity at all times. Not to mention, he is a great friend and classmate. Cam works well with others and leads by example with his great work ethic. Mrs. Strong loves having Cam in class.
Taliyah Lawson-Cash is a helper at school. She is welcoming to others and works hard on her schoolwork. Keep it up!
