Happy Week of the Young Child!
The Week of the Young Child is a time to recognize that children’s opportunities are our responsibilities and to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child experiences the type of early environment-at home, at child care, at school, and in the community-that will promote their learning. Today we know more than ever before about the importance of children’s earliest years in shaping their learning and development. Yet, never before have the needs of young children and their families been more pressing.
Along with the Minden Community for Kids group, the early childhood educators organized a fun-filled week (April 8th-12th) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities. In collaboration with Minden Headstart, First Christian Preschool, and Minden Public Preschool, the Jensen Memorial Library will serve as host for the early childhood education art show. Stay tuned for more highlights!

It's time to celebrate kids using integrity! There was a lot of integrity this week, and these are our kiddos chosen for a good cookie. In guidance, Mrs. Stott taught keys to integrity including grit and fixing mistakes.

Thank you to our reading guests of second and third graders! Quality time spent sharing a book is time well spent!

Exactly one month from today...hooray!

Kindergarten and first grade students LOVED reading with guests today! Research shared by the National Library of Medicine reminds, "Shared reading promotes children's early language growth and preliteracy skills, assists children's socio-emotional development and communication skills, and helps establish a bond between caregivers and children."

Beautiful 3rd grade artwork...

Our teachers are amazing at what they teach in the classroom. However, they also know how important it is to build positive relationships with students in other ways. These are the types of moments you can see happening around our school every single day.

Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. Look at these kids who earned special integrity recognition this week!

Nebraska is fun to celebrate! Getting to listen to an author read a book about Nebraska is the cherry on top! Thank you, Ashley Olson!
