These summer kids learned about Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and then created their own volcano. 🌋
Our summer enrichment kiddos completed two community based projects last week including planting and delivering flowers to the senior center and painting kindness rocks to be found around Jensen Memorial Library.
Thank you to everyone who helped fill the can recycling trailer! A special thank you to the Sorensens for donating the trailer and transporting the can to the recycling center. The money collected is added to our activity funds and used for things like field trip payments.
Keeping our brains active at summer enrichment has been fun this week! If you are a kindergarten through third grade student who signed up to join us, just a quick reminder on the dates and times. Summer enrichment will go through June 13th, 8:30-11:30.
This is a reminder that summer lunch will continue until the end of July at East Elementary from 11:30 to 1:00. We will have pick-up every Tuesday at East Elementary.
In the mornings, teachers have rock, paper, scissor competitions to see who gets to take their students to class first.

A few end of the year reminders for our last week of school: May 20th is the last day of school for students with a dismissal at noon. Lunch account balances can be paid online or by submitting a check to the East Elementary office. Any library books still at home need to be returned please. Report cards will be sent home on May 20th.
Our Minden Whippets app keeps getting better and better! Parents/guardians who have already created an account can now access new app features like Messages and Class Streams via web and in the app. Another round of invites have been sent via email/text.

Friday, May 9th: K-3rd grade track meet is at the high school track beginning at 9.
Students need a sack lunch and consider applying sunscreen before school. If you want to take your child home after the meet, this must be communicated with their teacher.
Minden Public Preschool graduation will begin at 1:00 at the high school.
The Minden Chamber of Commerce Dawg Day will be June 7th.
