What is Internet Safety?
Using the internet in a smart and safe way. Protecting your information and identity. Being cautious, kind and respectful online
Personal Information....Keep It Private!
Don't share your full name, address, phone number or school info. Be cautious when filling out forms or when clicking "like", "follow", "accept" or "allow".
Strangers Online Are Still Strangers.
Just like in real life, not everyone online is trustworthy. Don't talk to or meet strangers from the internet. Never send photos or videos to someone you don't know.
Think Before You Click or Post.
Once something is online, it can be hard or impossible to delete. Don't post anything you wouldn't want your family or teachers to see. Avoid clicking strange links, even if they come from a friend.
Cyberbullying: Don't Be Mean, Speak Up!
If someone is being bullied online, tell a trusted adult. Don't join in and don't share hurtful messages or posts. Always treat others how you want to be treated.
Spotting Scams or Tricks.
Pop-ups that say "You Won!!" are usually fake. Check with a trusted adult before downloading games or apps. A common scam is someone asking you to send them gift cards or money.
If You're Unsure.....
If something feels weird, scary or wrong it probably is....tell someone.
