Continuous School Improvement 2013-2018
With an enrollment of 815 students, P-12, our district encompasses approximately 300 square miles in south-central Nebraska. Our district consists of four buildings: the Preschool; East Elementary, K-3; C. L. Jones Middle School, 4-8; Minden High School, 9-12, and the Success Center. Our district has a total valuation of $1,415.050,332 and a total levy of 0729536.
In 2013-14 the Minden Public Schools began another five-year cycle of school improvement. Our district goal is "All students, K-12 will improve their writing skills." We adopted this goal because we believe that language is the foundation of a strong academic program and we believed there was still room for growth from our previous five-year cycle. We implemented several strategies to improve our students' writing performance, and we are hopeful of continuing accreditation from the NDE. Our survey of staff, students, and patrons reveals a positive attitude toward our district. The community supports our academic endeavors and the many activities we offer to students, including athletics and the fine arts.
