7-12th grade Assembly
Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 - 2:15 pm
Minden Public Schools Theater
Kimberley Burr, a Patient/Family Counselor and Tobacco Specialist at CHI Health Good Samaritan Cancer Center, will be speaking at a special assembly for our 7th-12th grade students and faculty.
Vaping or Juuling was an unheard term to most until lately. With the increase of coverage in the media and some occurrences of use by some of our students, we would like to bring in a specialist in the field to provide information about this topic for all to learn. Kimberley has a Masters degree in counseling and is a licensed independent mental health practitioner. She has been trained by the Mayo Clinic as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist and is the chair of the Buffalo County Tobacco Free Coalition.
Kimberley will speak about E-cigarettes, Vaping, or Juuling regarding the contents, health risks/consequences, legal consequences, and targeting of youth.
The assembly will be Thursday, October 11, from 2:15-3:15 pm in the theater located in the high school.
